Description

This was started in June, and for some time I didn't even mean to finish it.
But then it was going to be my 6th task for butter legion.
butter legion is no more, but I finished it anyway, because I said I would.

This is open for interpretations, but I have mine, and it is Tolkien based. If you really want to know what this is about, note me and I'll tell you.

clues:
why is this a battle scene with lamps?
why is a tree a lot larger than the others?
why only the biggest tree is full of arrows?
there is a letter on the sword handle. it's a clue, too...

there are also some stuff hidden in his armour, and it tells the story. I'll tell you one now: he's holding a knife - but his two daggers are in his belt. well, obviously the one he's holding isn't his. he took it off the tree (there is a hole in the place where it was).

well, this is some sort of personal piece.
I hope you'll like it

here goes the solution!

take the lord of the rings, book I, chapter "the council of elrond". that's where every character that knows anything about the rings tells their story.

Legolas says that he was in charge of keeping Gollum (well I can only guess he was the guard in charge...) and Gollum liked to climb a tall tree. that's why that's the biggest tree of the drawing, see? that's Legolas leaning on the tree Gollum used to climb.
but one day Gollum refused to get back down. And suddenly there was an orc attack, and the orcs slaughtered the elves standing guard on the tree and took Gollum with them.

but Legolas didn't die. How? He must have left for a while. Go tell the king their prisioner refused to cooperate or something.

he gets back, the tree is full of orc arrows and his friends are all killed. that's why he's holding his sword like that. the thing here is that we don't see what he sees - we see he sees something, and don't know what it is. he saw his fellow guards.

the sword handle has a very subtle L crafted in it - try hard and you'll find =)

there are lamps because it was a part of Mirkwood the elves used to live in and usually went to.

the letter is L, means "Legolas".
and the knife in the tree belonged to one of the fallen elves. that's why he's got both his knives with him - the third can't be his.
well, him placing the hand on his chest obviously means grief.
